Our school follows the curriculum guidelines outlined by the Archdiocese of Mobile and the State of Alabama Courses of Study. Our textbooks are selected with the direction of the Archdiocesan Curriculum Coordinator, Archdiocesan Committees, teachers, and principals.
Our religion program provides all of us with the opportunity to practice Catholic Christian principles in our daily lives. Non-Catholic students are required to participate in all activities. Religious activities include: morning rosary, prayer before each class, weekly masses, Stations of the Cross, the May Procession, and preparation for the sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist.
The academic program includes Religion, Mathematics, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. The course of study for K-8 grades meets all the requirements of the Archdiocese of Mobile, the State of Alabama, and AdvancED. Student report cards are issued four times a year. Parent-teacher conferences are held at the end of the first and third quarters. Daily grade information and quarterly interim reports are available online at SOLUTIONS for grades 1-8.
Promotion in the Archdiocese is based on the maturity of the child, achievement of at least the minimum course work, and regular attendance. In grades 1 and 2, at least two I’s in reading or two I’s in Math would result in retention. In grades 3 – 8, a yearly average of “F” in two major academic areas would result in retention. Major academic areas include: Religion, English, Reading, Math, Social Studies, and Science.
